This week at Nicholas Chamberlaine, we saw Kingfisher involved in the 3rd annual Griffin Sports Festival. This year the festival was comprised of two elements:
Inter-school Competition for twelve year 6/7 students from each school in the Trust, taking place over two days (26th – 27th). Day 1 at Nicholas Chamberlaine School saw students take part in Archery, Boccia, Curling, Handball, Orienteering and Sitting Volleyball. On day two at The Pingles Stadium, in Nuneaton, students competed in a Triathlon.
Intra-School House Competition for all year groups is taking place across all schools. To celebrate sport today, teams will compete for house points to add to the annual house cup competition.
The pupils were very excited to meet Nathan Douglas, a British triple jumper who has competed at numerous national and international sporting events, including representing Team GB at the Olympics. Nathan finished the event with an incredible motivational speech before hosting the sports quiz.
Although we may not have taken any medals home this year, we are very proud of our team and how well they played.
Bring on next year!
