Our Foundation Stage Pupils celebrated Year of the Monkey on Monday 8th February 2016. The Early Years celebrated the school’s motto of Proud Traditions providing a range of traditional cultural opportunities for our youngest pupils.
Red dragons were made out of old egg boxes and other materials, while each youngster designs Lucky Envelopes, wrote their names in Chinese Characters and made Chinese lanterns.
The children and their carers even tucked into some authentic food and attempted to learn how to use chopsticks.
Miss Hatfield and Mrs Few stated that the children always enjoy learning about different cultures and its wonderful to see parents and carers sharing experiences with their children and being invovled in their education.
Parents comments were that they enjoyed all the creative activities and learning with their child. Honey’s mum said “Me and Honey really enjoyed ourselves. Had a fantastic time, love these little sessions!”
Lexi’s grandad said “A lovely afternoon doing things related to Chinese New Year. Great fun for parents/grandparents to interact with the children.
The team would like to say a special thank you to all of our parents for supporting our school and children.
